Rose Swisher is the ex-wife of Bill Russell. On December 9, 1956, Rose and Russell exchanged their vows and became husband and wife. They began dating in college and were together until 1973 when they decided to go their separate ways.
Following the conclusion of their marriage, Russell wed Dorothy Anstett in 1977. In 1968, Dorothy was honored with the title of Miss USA. Despite the fact that they got divorced in 1980, the fact that Anstett was white made their relationship fraught with a great deal of controversy.
On September 11, 2014, Rose Swisher passed away at the age of 78 years old.
