Bill Russell whose full name is William Felton Russell is a former professional American basketball player who has reportedly passed away today on July 31, 2022. In his career as a basketball player, he played as a center for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association grok the year 1956 to the year 1969. He was known to have been born on February 12, 1934 in West Monroe, Louisiana in the United States.

Considered widely, as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, he is known to be a five time NBA Most Valuable Player as well as a 12 time NBA All-Star. He claimed the centerpiece of the Celtics dynasty that won a number of 11 NBA championships during his spanning career for a period of 13 years.

It will interest you to know that, he and one Henri Richard of the National Hockey League. They are known to be tied for the record of the most championship won at the time. He was known to have led the San Francisco Dons to a two consecutive NCAA championships in  the year 1955 and 1956. He had the privilege to  be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
