Matthew Ryan Sokol, a tight end for the New England Patriots of the National Football League, was born on November 9, 1995. He was a Michigan State football player in college. He signed as an undrafted free agent and joined the Los Angeles Chargers in 2020, where he earned his first roster berth. The Patriots acquired Sokol in 2022.

Sokol joined the Detroit Lions on January 12, 2022, under a reserve/future contract. On May 10, 2022, he was released.
