The role of twins Vicky Hudson and Marley Love in the soap opera Another World (1987–1991) earned Anne Celeste Heche (May 25, 1969–August 12, 2022) fame and two Soap operas Digest Awards.
With parts in the criminal drama Donnie Brasco (1997), the catastrophe movie Volcano (1997), the slasher movie I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), the action comedy Six Days, Seven Nights (1998), and the drama-thriller Return to Paradise (1998), she gained more notoriety in the late 1990s.
Heche was nominated for a Saturn Award for her performance as Marion Crane in Gus Van Sant’s horror remake Psycho (1998), which won her a position in a number of well-received independent films, including Birth (2004), Spread (2009), Cedar Rapids (2011), Rampart (2011), and Catfight (2012).
She won praise for her performance in the television movie Gracie’s Choice, for which she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award, and for her work on Broadway, particularly Twentieth Century, for which she was nominated for a Tony Award.
In addition to her film work, Heche has acted in the television comedies Men in Trees (2006–2008), Hung (2009–2011), Save Me (2013), Aftermath (2016), and the war drama The Brave (2017).
She participated in the 29th season of Dancing with the Stars and provided the voice of Suyin Beifong in the animated television series The Legend of Korra (2014).
