American football offensive tackle Alaric Jackson was born in Canada and currently plays for the Los Angeles Rams of the NFL. He was an Iowa Hawkeyes football player.

Originally from Windsor, Ontario, Jackson moved to Detroit when he was a young man. At Renaissance High School, he played basketball for most of his high school career until switching to football his junior year. Despite receiving offers from Iowa State, Nebraska, and Michigan State, Jackson chose to play football at the University of Iowa .

Jackson sat out his first season as a true freshman. For Iowa, he started every regular season game at left tackle and was awarded Big Ten Conference All-Freshman by the Football Writers Association of America.

After serving a one-match suspension for breaking team rules, Jackson returned to the starting lineup for the final 12 games of the season and was selected a second-team All-Big Ten selection.

As a redshirt junior, he was chosen to the Big Ten third team despite missing three games due to injury. A COVID-19-shortened season in 2020 saw Jackson play all eight of Iowa’s games as a redshirt senior, earning him first-team All-Big Ten and AFCA All-American recognition.
