The Halloween movie Hocus Pocus has become something of a phenomenon in the nearly 30 years since its initial release in 1993. In fact, a sequel is now available.
In addition to Doug Jones, who returns as the endearing undead Billy Butcherson, the Sanderson stars from the first film Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker also return.
Some other characters, like Max and Allison, won’t be appearing this time around; in their place, a fresh batch of young stars will take their place.
Winnie, the oldest of the three Sanderson Sisters, has electrokinesis as her special power, but she is also well-versed in dark magic thanks to her beloved sentient spell book. Winifred, the elder of the three, is frequently irritated by her younger sisters’ incompetence.
Bette Midler performs the part.
Mary, the middle sister, has an increased sense of smell and the supernatural ability to follow kids. She looks up to Winifred, her older sister, and is constantly trying to win her favor. The role of the second sister is played by Kathy Najimy.
The Wedding Planner, Rat Race, Step Up 3D, The Guilt Trip, Dumplin’, and a voice role in Wall-E are among Najimy’s other notable film roles in addition to the original Hocus Pocus.
Of the three Sanderson Sisters, Sarah Sanderson, played by Sarah Jessica Parker is the youngest. A mesmerizing siren call is Sarah’s magical gift, which she employs in the song Come Little Children.
Winifred finds her immature, lustful, and frequently hysterical temperament annoying.
