The three Sanderson Sisters will return to the big screen in “Hocus Pocus 2,” which will be released on September 30 just in time for fall. Unfortunately, some other significant characters from the previous movie won’t be returning to reprise their roles.

The Sanderson Sisters were portrayed by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy in the first film, which was released in 1993. For the sequel, all three witches will be present.

Hocus Pocus

In the 1990s Halloween movie, Omri Katz and Vinessa Shaw played Max and Allison, respectively, and Thora Birch played Max’s younger sister Dani.

The younger cast members from the first “Hocus Pocus” were not a part of the sequel, but according to Anne Fletcher, the director of the movie, it wasn’t for want of trying; rather, it was because it was challenging to work the characters into the story of the new picture.

The only other actor that returns in “Hocus Pocus 2” is one of the three Sanderson Sisters.
Doug Jones, who originally played Billy Butcherson in the first film, will return to reprise the part.

While the infamous black cat Thackery Binx from the first movie was briefly seen in the “Hocus Pocus 2” trailer, Jason Marsden, who provided the voice of the cat, is also absent from the sequel. Larry Bagby and Tobias Jelinek, who played high school bullies in the first movie, will not reprise their roles.
