Who Is Trent William

Trent Williams plays offensive lineman for the National Football League’s San Francisco 49ers. He was selected fourth overall in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins after playing college football at Oklahoma and earning All-American honors.

Williams is regarded as one of the greatest tackles in the league, having appeared in seven straight Pro Bowls from 2012 to 2018, as well as two more in 2020 and 2021.

Williams was nominated to The Sporting News Freshman All-America second team after playing 462 snaps and racking up 75 knockdowns.

Williams was ranked No. 2 in Rivals.com’s 2009 preseason offensive lineman power rankings as the lone holdover from the 2008 offensive line. He’s also on the watch list for the 2009 Outland Trophy. Williams led Oklahoma with 102 knockdown blocks and 885 plays despite missing the regular-season finale due to injury. He was labeled an All-American by the American Football Coaches Alliance.

Professional Career

Williams was compared to Jammal Brown and was thought to be one of the top offensive linemen available in the 2010 NFL Draft in his days with the RedSkins. On July 30, 2010, Williams signed a six-year, $60 million contract with the Washington Redskins, who selected him fourth overall.

Williams was traded to the San Francisco 49ers on April 25, 2020, for a fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and a third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft in return for a fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and a third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Williams inked a six-year, $138.06 million contract extension with the 49ers on March 23, 2021, making him the NFL’s highest-paid offensive lineman. His contract includes a guaranteed $55.10 million and a $30.10 million signing bonus.
