Bob Beckel, a former Democratic Party operative who later in life became a Fox News host until he was fired in 2017 died on Monday, February 21, 2022.

Beckel was the campaign chief for Walter Mondale’s 1984 official mission.

After years as a Democratic political tactician, Beckel joined Fox News in 2000 as a giver giving political investigation, and would later become one of the first co-hosts of The Five when it was sent off in 2011.

Notwithstanding, he was excused from the show (and Fox News Channel) in June 2015. Of the choice to fire Beckel, Fox said at that point, “We couldn’t hold The Five hostage to one man’s personal issues.

He took tremendous advantage of our generosity, empathy, and goodwill and we simply came to the end of the road with him.” Beckel continued to battle substance abuse over the years. Prior to his exit, Beckel had been out for several weeks.
