Giancarlo Cruz-Michael Stanton is an American professional baseball designated hitter and outfielder for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball. He was born on November 8, 1989, and was previously known as Mike Stanton (MLB).

He debuted in the Major League Baseball in 2010 with the Miami Marlins, where he remained until the end of the 2017 season. Stanton began acting with the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Marlins but was swiftly promoted to the Class A-Short Season New York–Penn League’s Jamestown Jammers.

He was advanced to the Greensboro Grasshoppers of the Class A South Atlantic League after nine games with the Jammers, during which he batted.067 on 2-for-30.
