Coach Barry Rubin Biography

The Kansas City Chiefs’ Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, Barry Rubin, was born on June 25, 1957. He is a member of the Hall of Fame of the USA Strength and Conditioning Coaches.

Rubin, the son of Sam and Eileen Rubin, was born in Monroe, Louisiana. He lettered three years in football, baseball, basketball, and track at Neville High School, earning all-district accolades as a running back and punter. Rubin began his career as a running back and punter for the LSU Tigers in 1976.

He transferred to Northwestern State University after the 1977 season and earned his B.A. in 1981 as a punter and tight end. Bobby Hebert, Mark Duper, Joe Delaney, and Gary Reasons were all future NFL players when he was there. He was chosen to the Jewish All-American team in 1979 after breaking the school record with a 75-yard punt.

In 2010, he was named the Philadelphia Eagles’ Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. After Andy Reid was hired as head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, he assumed the same responsibility for them. Rubin won Super Bowl LIV in 2019 with the Kansas City Chiefs, who defeated the San Francisco 49ers 31-20.
