Lively was born in Los Angeles and made her professional debut in director Ernie Lively’s film Sandman (1998). She starred as Bridget Vreeland in the critically acclaimed films The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005) and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (2008). She played Serena van der Woodsen in the CW drama television series Gossip Girl, and she starred with Justin Long in the comedy Accepted (2006).
