Jake Cousins is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 20th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft.
Cousins attended Wheaton Academy and grew up in St. Charles, Illinois. He played four seasons of college baseball for the Penn Quakers at the University of Pennsylvania.
Cousins was chosen first-team All-Ivy League after posting a 7–2 record with a 3.15 earned run average (ERA) as a senior. His collegiate career record was 20–7 with a 2.91 earned run average.
He played collegiate summer baseball for the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Harwich Mariners in 2015.
The Washington Nationals selected Cousins in the 20th round (613th overall) of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft.
In 2017, he made his professional debut with the GCL Nationals and also pitched for the Low-A Auburn Doubledays, where he went 2-2 with a 2.48 ERA in 18 outings.
In 2018, he pitched in only seven games with the GCL Nationals, putting up a 4.09 ERA in 11.0 innings. Cousins was released on March 27, 2019, after suffering an injury.
