Michael Kay is married to Jodi Applegate.
After meeting Jodi Applegate at the local Emmy Awards in New York, Michael Kay couldn’t stop gushing about her on his radio show.
Kay’s comments were brought to her attention by Applegate’s producer, and she called to taunt him about them, but when they hit it off, Kay pursued a relationship.
He proposed in 2010, and they married a year later at The Plaza. Kay was 56 years old when he married Applegate, who was 46 at the time, and the two had a lavish affair, which was officiated by then-Mayor Rudy Guiliani.
“It’s a terrific day for Michael Kay,” Darryl Strawberry, a former MLB Yankee player, told the New York Post.
He had been looking for the ideal one for a long time. It’s incredible.”
Who is Jodi Applegate?
Jodi Applegate is a broadcast journalist from the United States. She worked as an anchorwoman for local stations as well as MSNBC and NBC News on a national level.
Applegate was raised in an Irish American Catholic household in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh.
Applegate graduated from Moon Area High School in 1982. She attended Temple University in Philadelphia for her freshman year.
She transferred to New York University as a sophomore and earned a degree in television and cinema.
In 2005, Applegate joined WNYW as co-anchor of Good Day New York, the station’s morning show.
She worked there for three years before being replaced by Rosanna Scotto in 2008. Shortly after, Applegate left the station.
