Christian Yelich is an American professional baseball left fielder for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Miami Marlins.
In an agreement worth $49.57 million, Yelich signed a new seven-year contract with the Marlins on March 22, 2015.
Before making his season-returning comeback on May 8, he had a difficult start and was eventually placed on the injured list in April due to a lower back strain.
On May 22, his batting average dropped to a season-low. 178. When Yelich re-aggravated a damaged right knee in August, he was placed on the injured list once more.
After a rough start to the season, Yelich has rebounded and was batting.275/.343/.376 with six home runs, 29 RBIs, and 14 stolen bases.
Because of his bat, Yelich managed to stay in the lineup despite worsening his injury immediately after returning.
The outfielder who had taken Yelich’s place while he was on the disabled list again, Marcell Ozuna, played with him late in the season.
Yelich finished 2015 with a.300 batting average. Ground balls outnumbered fly balls in his season, 62.5 percent to 15.0 percent, the greatest of any major leaguer.
