Kolby Allard is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Atlanta Braves.
On August 13, 1997, Kolby Allard was born in Anaheim, California. He was raised in the state of California and graduated from San Clemente High.
When he was younger, he attended the same high school like New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold and Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Lucas Herbert.
When he was chosen in 2015, the 21-year-old was also committed to UCLA, but he decided to pursue a professional career right immediately.
Allard’s prospects of being picked in the first round of the 2015 MLB Draft were nearly scuppered.
According to the Chatham Star Tribune, he injured his back while swinging at a pitch in March of his final year of high school.
In reality, he had a stress fracture and was forced to miss the rest of the season because of it.
Despite being nominated to the USA Preseason High School Baseball team and helping the 18U Team USA win gold in the Pan-American championships, Allard’s injury scares some opponents.
