Adriean DeAngelo Payne was an American professional basketball player who last played for the Juventus Utena of the Lithuanian Basketball League. Payne attended high school at the Jefferson Township High school at Dayton and entered the Michigan State University where he played college basket basketball.
Payne was born on February 19, 1991, and died today, Monday 9th May 2022. He was shot and killed by a 29-year-old man named Lawrence Dority. The motive of the murder is still not yet known.
Payne was born to parents Thomas Payne and Gloria Lewis but there is no information about Payne’s wife or girlfriend . Thus, the basketball player did not have any children at the time of his death.
However, Payne had been close to 8-year-old Lacey Holsworth who was a cancer patient. The two had met at a children’s hospital that Payne was visiting to gift the sick children toys to cheer them up.
Both Payne and Lacey had been in close contact since then with Payne playing the role of a big brother to the child who was fighting cancer. Sadly, Lacey passed on April 4, 2014.
