Andres Machado is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played in MLB for the Kansas City Royals.
Machado became an international free agent and signed with the Kansas City Royals on November 20, 2010. During his time with the DSL Royals, Machado threw seven innings and had an ERA of 4.66.
Machado returned to the DSL Royals in 2012, making 15 appearances and going 2-1 with a 2.87 ERA.
For the rookie Burlington Royals in 2013, he had a record of 0-8 with an 8.34 earned run average in 12 games. The following year, in 2014, he made a comeback to Burlington and threw in seven games, earning two wins and a loss while posting a 3.63 earned run average.
Due to a Tommy John surgery, Machado was unable to play in any games in 2015. Since his return to the majors in 2016, he has appeared in 13 games with the Idaho Falls Chukars of the rookie-league Idaho Falls Chukars.
With the Wilmington Blue Rocks, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals and the Omaha Storm Chasers, he compiled an 8-9 record and 4.54 ERA in 29 appearances between the three teams.
