Francisco Perez is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2021 for the Cleveland Indians.
On December 12, 2014, Pérez became a member of the Indians organization after signing with them as an international free agent. His debut in the major leagues came with the Dominican Summer League Indians, where he played for the entire season.
Pérez pitched for the Indians of the Arizona League in 2016, when he appeared in 12 games and recorded an earned run average of 2.69.
The year after that, Pérez pitched for the Low-A Mahoning Valley Scrappers and finished the year with a record of 4-4 and a 3.28 earned run average (ERA) in 15 starts for the squad.
He spent the 2018 season pitching for the Single-A Lake County Captains, where he had a record of 8-10, a 4.07 earned run average, 111 strikeouts in 26 games, and a total of 26 starts (25 of them starts).
Because of injuries, Pérez only played in a total of eight games in 2019, and the minor league season was canceled in 2020 because to the COVID-19 epidemic, thus he did not participate in any games at all during that year.
