Erik Swanson is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2019.

Swanson went to Cincinnati’s Mariemont High School, where he played in the same league as Madeira High School’s Andrew Benintendi.

He later attended Wabash Valley College and Iowa Western Community College, where he played college baseball. This year’s MLB draft saw the Texas Rangers choose Swanson in round 8 of the process.

It was with the Spokane Indians that Swanson made his major league pitching debut in 2014, and he stayed with them for the entire season, going 1–2 with a 4.63 ERA in 23.1 innings of relief work.

There were four teams that he appeared in 2015: Hickory Crawdads (Arizona League), Frisco RoughRiders (Frisco RoughRiders), and Round Rock Express (Arizona League).

Carlos Beltrán was traded to the Yankees in exchange for Dillon Tate and Nick Green. The Charleston RiverDogs were his final stop of the season.

He was 6–5 with a 3.46 ERA in 17 starts in 24 games between the two teams. He spent most of 2017 with the Tampa Yankees, going 7-3 with a 3.95 ERA in 20 appearances, before joining the Trenton Thunder for the first half of the year.
