American pitcher Devin Paul Smeltzer, born September 7, 1995, plays for the Minnesota Twins in Major League Baseball. He debuted in the MLB in 2019.
Smeltzer, Logan Forsythe, and Luke Raley were traded by the Dodgers to the Minnesota Twins on July 31, 2018, in exchange for Brian Dozier.
He spent the remainder of the season with the Chattanooga Lookouts of the Double-A Southern League. He was 5-5 with a 4.52 ERA in 33 games (14 starts) between Tulsa and Chattanooga.
With the Southern League’s Pensacola Blue Wahoos, he started the 2019 campaign, posting a 3-1 record and 0.60 ERA in 30 innings. On May 2, he was elevated to the Class AAA International League’s Rochester Red Wings.
