State Rep. David Wheeler, a Republican from Vestavia Hills has died. He passed away earlier today, March 9, 2022, aged 72.

However, the cause of death was not revealed. Wheeler was elected to his first term in 2018. He served House District 47.

“The people of District 47 and all of Alabama have lost a devoted servant and I’ve lost a good friend,” Speaker of the House Mac McCutcheon said.



Who Was David Wheeler?

Wheeler served on a few House panels including Commerce and Small Business, Jefferson County Legislation, and the Local Legislation Committee.

Wheeler had been an individual from the Board of Trustees at the University of Montevallo beginning around 2008.

As indicated by his profile on the college’s site, Wheeler moved on from Montevallo in 1972 with a four-year certification in bookkeeping. He started his profession with Alabama Power that year.

Wheeler acquired a graduate degree in business administration at Samford University in 1976 and turned into a guaranteed administration bookkeeper.

He was director of government issues for Alabama Power from 1988-1993 and was situated in Washington, D.C.
