Darrin Simmons is one of the popular names in American football. He serves as the assistant head coach and special teams coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals football team of the National Football League(NFL).
Before becoming a coach, Darrin played football in the NFL. He started his playing career at Elkhart Central High School (ECHS) in Elkhart, Indiana and then he played college football at Kansas University from 1993 to 1995.
He earned the All-Big Eight honours awards during his final year at the University. As a senior, he helped the Kansas Jayhawks football team to a Top-10 national ranking and an Aloha Bowl victory.
Although Darrin started professional coaching in 1996, he has coached for the Cincinnati Bengals since 2003. He was a graduate assistant coach for Kansas and Minnesota football teams in 1996 and 1997 respectively. From 1998 to 2002, he was made the Assistant special team’s coordinator/assistant strength and conditioning coach for Baltimore Ravens and Carolina Panthers football teams.
In 2003, he coached the Cincinnati Bengals as their Special team’s coordinator up until 2019 when he was promoted to be an Assistant head coach and Special teams coordinator.
