Dave Chappelle was born David Khari Webber Chappelle. He is a stand-up comedian and actor known for his satirical comedy sketch series Chappelle’s Show. He was born on August 24, 1973, in Washington, D.C., the USA.

Dave attended Woodlin Elementary School in Maryland. When he reached high school, he worked as an usher in Ford’s Theatre. Dave lived with his mother when his parents separated. He studied theatre Arts at Washington’s Duke Ellington School of the Arts and graduated in 1991.

Apart from being a comedian, he has also starred in several films, including Robin Hood: Men in Tights in 1993, Undercover Brother in 2002 and A Star Is Born in 2018. His first lead role was in the comedy film Half Baked which was in 1998. In 2016, Dave signed a $20-million-per-release comedy-special deal with Netflix.

Dave have being given several awards including five Emmy Awards and three Grammy Awards. He received his first Emmy in 2017 for his guest appearance on Saturday Night Live and in 2018, he received a Grammy Award for his Netflix-produced comedy album, The Age of Spin & Deep in the Heart of Texas. On May 4 2022, he was attacked onstage during the filming of a Netflix special.

Dave Chappelle has three children. They are Sulayman Chappelle who is the eldest son, and Ibrahim Chappelle, the second child.

Sanaa Chappelle is the third born and only girl of Dave Chappelle. She is a child actress and starred in the movie, A Star is Born.
