Davie Wilson Wiki, Real Age, Height, Career, Records, Net Worth

David Wilson was a Scottish footballer who played on the outside left side of the field for his country.

He was most known for his ten years with Rangers, during which he was a key figure in the club’s early 1960s success.
He was also a manager after being selected 22 times for Scotland’s national team.

Wilson, a native of Newton, a mining community outside of Glasgow, grew up a Rangers fan. Wilson took instruction from former star Alan Morton, who played left wing, during a visit to Ibrox Stadium.

He was rejected by the local Junior team Cambuslang Rangers as a teenager because he was too little, thus he started his career at Baillieston instead.

He also began to score more frequently, with 22 goals in 50 games across all competitions, compared to 8 goals in 51 appearances in his previous three seasons combined.

Rangers won the Scottish Cup and qualified for the European Cup semi-finals.

Rangers signed him in 1956 after he quickly caught their eye.

Wilson made his first-team debut on 2 January 1957, two days before his 18th birthday, was selected for European matches against AS Saint-Étienne and AC Milan, and played enough games to earn a League winner’s medal in 1959, but he did not become a fixture in the side until the 1959–60 season.
