In a game against Vanderbilt during the 2016 season, Baker got hurt. However, against Georgia Tech he has hurt again and had to be replaced. After the 2017 season, Baker was chosen to the SEC’s Second Team All-Conference. In the end, Baker decided to return to school for his senior year rather than declare for the NFL draft in 2018.

Baker was a standout college football defensive back his senior year. With 175 receiving yards and a 40.2 NFL passer rating from opposition receivers in 2018 placed among the top five cornerbacks with at least 300 coverage snaps eligible for the 2019 NFL Draft.
