Dermot Fitzpatrick (12 April 1940 – 23 March 2022) was an Irish Fianna Fáil politician who represented the Dublin Central constituency as a Teachta Dála (TD) from 1987 to 1992 and 2002 to 2007.

He was born and raised in Dublin, where he attended Coláiste Mhuire, an Irish language secondary school, and University College Dublin, where he earned a medical degree.

He worked as a family doctor before entering politics.



During the 2007 general election, he announced his retirement. In the 2007 general election, his daughter Mary Fitzpatrick, a Fianna Fáil member of Dublin City Council, was one of three Fianna Fáil candidates in Dublin Central.  She did not win the election.
