In Major League Baseball, Drew Thomas Rasmussen is a professional baseball pitcher who currently plays for the Tampa Bay Rays of the American League.

He formerly played for the Milwaukee Brewers, for whom he will make his Major League Baseball debut in 2020.

Rasmussen graduated from Mead, Washington’s Mt. Spokane High School and went on to play college baseball for the Beavers at Oregon State University.

Rasmussen was selected in the 39th round of the 2014 MLB draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks. The only perfect game in the team’s history was thrown by him as a freshman, on March 21, 2015, when the team beat Washington State 3–0 in the Big 12 Conference.

The Tampa Bay Rays selected him with the 31st overall pick in the 2017 Major League Baseball draft, but he declined to sign with them.

Rasmussen was forced to miss the entire 2018 season after undergoing his second Tommy John surgery in September 2017.

After missing all of 2018, the Milwaukee Brewers selected Rasmussen in the sixth round of the 2018 MLB draft.

Rasmussen was added to the active roster on August 13, 2020. On August 19, he faced the Minnesota Twins in his major league debut and went 2 innings without allowing a run.

In 2021, Rasmussen began his career with the Milwaukee Brewers as a reliever in the bullpen. In 15 games with the Brewers, he made one save.
