The last two matches of the Wimbledon women’s singles quarterfinals will be played on Wednesday. Ajla Tomljanovic will face 17th seed Elena Rybakina in the second round of the tournament. At 8 a.m. ET, the two will take the court.

After defeating Alize Cornet, Tomljanovic and Rybakina both advanced to the quarterfinals with straight-set wins over Petra Martic, respectively. Both of these players were underdogs going into this competition at Wimbledon.

Elena Rybakina Prediction

The first time these two met was in 2021, with Rybakina coming out on top in straight sets. She has a 1-0 lead in the all-time series.

On paper, Rybakina has the highest chance of winning this match. When it comes to Wimbledon, she’s the higher-ranked player and she’s been playing better all year long.

In addition, Tomljanovic has won 13 of his last 18 matches on grass. On fast grass, her aggressive groundstrokes are effective, and they’ve done so in the past.

Rybakina has a modest advantage in the second week of a Grand Slam due to the fact that she hasn’t dropped any sets while Tomljanovic has had two of her four matches go the distance.

For the first time in her career, Rybakina will be in the semifinals at Wimbledon.
