Elijah Moore, a wide receiver for the New York Jets in the National Football League, was born on March 27, 2000. He attended Ole Miss during his college football career before being selected by the Jets in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft.



Moore went to St. Thomas Aquinas High School while attending Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as a child. Moore caught 28 passes for 407 yards and five touchdowns as a senior, earning him the distinction of Under Armour All-American. He initially chose Georgia over 33 other scholarship offers as a four-star recruit to play college football. In December of his senior year, Moore decided to withdraw his pledge to Ole Miss.


The New York Jets chose Moore in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft (34th overall). Moore agreed to a four-year, $8.94 million rookie deal with the Jets on July 21, 2021.



Moore was the starting wide receiver when his rookie campaign began. In a remarkable performance in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts, he recorded seven catches for 84 yards and two touchdowns in addition to his first career touchdown. He recorded eight receptions for 141 yards and a touchdown in Week 11. On December 11, 2021, he was placed on the injured reserve after sustaining a quad injury in Week 13.
