Eric Steven Weddle is an American former professional football player who played free safety for three different teams in the National Football League. He was born on January 4, 1985. (NFL). Six times he was named to the Pro Bowl, and five times he was named an All-Pro. During the 2021 season, he won the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams.

Weddle is a California native who grew up in Fontana. He attended Alta Loma High School while growing up in Alta Loma, California. He lettered in football, basketball, and baseball during his time at Alta Loma High School. He was a three-time all-league and two-time All-CIF performer in football.

Weddle attended the University of Utah and played football for the Utah Utes from 2003 to 2006. In 2003, he was thrust into action right away, starting his final nine games at right cornerback.

He was named to the Freshman All-American first team and received honorable mention in the Mountain West Conference. He had 60 tackles (29 solos), four sacks, four forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in his rookie season.

He intercepted one pass and deflected four others while carrying the ball once (minus 6 yards). Weddle was named Defensive Player of the Year twice in the Mountain West Conference.
