Eva Mireles was 43 years old and taught fourth-grade special education and had worked for 17 years at the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District in Uvalde, Texas.
According to her biography published on the official website of the school where she worked, it is presumed that she was married to Rubén Ruiz, an officer of the local police department, and was also the mother of a young lady called Adalynn, whom she said had graduated from college.

On May 24, 2022, Eva Mireles, a teacher who was 43 years old and was best known for teaching in a school called Robb Elementary School in the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District in Uvalde, Texas, passed away.
Robb Elementary School was part of the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District. Tragically, she lost her battle with death on May 24, 2022, at the age of 43, along with a few of her pupils, as a consequence of a shooting incident that occurred on their campus.
