Hall was born and raised in Bermuda’s St. George’s, where he began his football career as a goalkeeper for the St. George’s Colts of the island’s juvenile division.



He attended Holderness School in New Hampshire from 2000 to 2004, where he was an all-state and Lake Region All-Star, as well as a Boston Globe All-Scholastic player, an All-New England selection, and a nominee for the Boston All-Scholastic Player of the Year, and a member of the NEPSSA Senior All-Star Game.

Hall began his college soccer career at the University of South Florida, where he won his debut game with six saves in a 4–1 victory over East Carolina.

In 2006, he switched to Quinnipiac University. Shaka Hislop, a former Trinidad and Tobago, Portsmouth, and West Ham United goalkeeper, was his goalie coach at Quinnipiac, and he remained involved in his career thereafter, arranging trials for Hall.

Hall was a three-year starter for the Bobcats, recording 26 wins and 22 shutouts while leading them to back-to-back NEC Tournament appearances in 2008 and 2009 for the first time in program history.

He led the NCAA in save percentage (.915) and saves per game as a sophomore in 2007. (7.38). He was chosen to the All-NEC Second Team in 2007 and 2008.

Hall was invited to trials with Charlton Athletic in the winter of 2009, but decided to finish university before trying trials or pursuing a career in professional football.

The Bermuda Hogges of the USL Premier Development League were his next stop.

Hall was granted permission to depart the Hogges ahead of the completion of the 2010 PDL season in order to undertake a trial with League 1 club Plymouth Argyle in England.

Hall made his debut for The Pilgrims on trial, replacing the injured Romain Larrieu in a 3–1 loss to Devon rivals Torquay United in a pre-season encounter.
