On April 6, 2019, the Yankees acquired Urshela’s contract after starting the third baseman Miguel Andujar tore his right shoulder labrum. Despite Andujar’s brief comeback in May, Urshela continued to play for the Yankees despite his decision to forego season-ending surgery.
