Hirokazu Sawamura, a Japanese professional baseball pitcher with the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball, was born on April 3, 1988. (MLB).
He formerly played for the Yomiuri Giants and Chiba Lotte Marines in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). He throws and bats right-handed, he stands 6 feet 0 inches (1.83 m) tall and weighs 212 pounds (96 kg).
Sawamura was a baseball player for Chuo University in Tokyo. From 2011 to 2020, Sawamura was a member of the Yomiuri Giants for nine seasons.
He was selected Rookie of the Year in the Central League. In 2013, he was selected MVP of the NPB All-Star Series’ first game.
Sawamura was selected for the 2013 World Baseball Classic by the Japan national baseball team. He also pitched in the 2015 WBSC Premier12 competition for Japan.
Sawamura was traded to the Chiba Lotte Marines on September 8, 2020, and after the season, he became a free agent.
