Kim Jung-Ju was a South Korean businessman who was known mainly for his invention of video games. His company name is called Nexon and it’s one of the biggest gaming companies in Korea.



He founded his company in 1994 and handled the company’s affairs himself till 2005. Within that period, the company launched the world’s first graphic massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), Nexus: The Kingdom of the Winds and released popular titles such as MapleStory, KartRider, Mabinogi and Dungeon&Fighter.

The company has branches in several countries and services over 100 online and mobile games to over 190 countries.



In 2014, Kim partnered with Collaborative Fund, a technology company focused on providing seed and early-stage funding to technology companies. Collaborative’s Founder and Managing Partner, Craig Shapiro welcomed Kim into his company since he was a business expert in the technology field.

The motive behind this partnership was because Kim was interested in helping amateurs expand their businesses outside their domain.

Kim was a graduate of Seoul National University and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and technology.

He was born in South Korea on February 22, 1986, and Died on February 28, 2022, in Hawaii. He left being his wife, Jung-Hyun Yoo and two children. His parents were Kim Gyo-chang and Lee Yeon-ja.

How Did Kim Jung-Ju Die?

The cause of his death is unknown but Kim Jung-Ju was known to be suffering from depression for a while and it recently got worse so he was receiving treatment for it. Unfortunately, we heard about his demise from his firm.
