Ejiro Evero played in the NFL for a period of one season in 2004. Following his undergraduate career, Evero signed with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2004.

Evero’s first position in the collegiate levels was as an assistant coach at the University of California-Davis (2005-06), where he assisted in the Aggies’ championship season in the Great West Conference in 2005.

The next year, Evero worked as an intern for the football program while also acting as an assistant coach for the Davis High School junior varsity team.



Evero got his start in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he spent three seasons as the defensive quality control coach (2007-09).

Evero was a member of a coaching staff that helped the Buccaneers’ defense finish second in the NFL in total defense (278.4) and first in pass defense during his first season with the team (170.5 ).

In 2008, he contributed to the defense finishing in the top ten in total defense for the second consecutive season, placing them ninth in the National Football League (306.1 ).

As a result of his work with the Rams’ 2017 safety unit, Evero’s defense finished fifth in the NFL in terms of total turnovers with a total of 28. During Lamarcus Joyner’s first season as a professional safety, he was mentored by Evero, and he flourished as a starter for the first time in a season in the NFL.
