Rishi Sunak is a British politician who has risen to prominence as a leading contender for the position of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, which Boris Johnson currently holds the position.

Since 2015, Sunak has been an active member of the Conservative Party in the constituency of Richmond (Yorks).

On May 12, 1980, Sunak was born in Southampton to Indian parents, Yashvir and Usha Sunak, who was living in East Africa at the time.



His paternal and paternal grandfathers were all born in the Punjab province of British India. During the 1960s, they uprooted their family and moved from East Africa to the United Kingdom.

In the year 2001, Sunak completed his education at Winchester College and then went on to study Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) at Lincoln College in Oxford.

In 2006, when he was 42 years old, the Fulbright Scholar also earned his MBA in business administration from Stanford University.

In 2009, the Member of Parliament for Yorkshire wed Akshata Murty, who is the daughter of NR Narayan Murthy, the founder of Infosys. The couple now has two children together.
