How Many Years Did Andy Heck Play In The NFL?

Andy Heck played over 12 years from (1989 to 2000) in the NFL and along the offensive line, 164 starts have been made by him.

Heck was a first-team All-America selection and co-captain of Notre Dame’s 1988 national championship team, which went 12-0. He started his first three seasons at Notre Dame as a tight end before switching to tackle in spring exercises his senior year.

His NFL debut started in 1989 with the Seahawks. Heck was the 15th overall pick in the 1989 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks, and he signed a five-year contract worth more than $2.7 million after a one-week holdout.

He spent the final two seasons of his playing career with the Washington Redskins. He blocked for the NFL’s second-best offense in 1999 as the starting left tackle.

Heck started five seasons with the Chicago Bears between 1994 and 1998. He was a member of an offensive line that had the fewest sacks in the NFL in 1995, allowing nil sacks.

Heck was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the first round (15th overall) in 1989 and was named to the All-Rookie team. He was a starter for the Seahawks for all five years, missing only three snaps in the process.
