Don Mattingly who was born Donald Arthur Mattingly, aged, 60 is an American former baseball first baseman, coach, and current manager of the Miami Marlins of the Major League Baseball.

Nicknamed “The Hit Man” and “Donnie Baseball” and as a former player for the New York Yankees, he emerged as the Yankees’ starting first baseman after a successful rookie season in 1983. Mattingly was named to the American League (AL) All-Star team six times.

In 2016, he signed a four-year juicy contract with the Miami Marlins to become their manager. As their manager, he led the Marlins to win 79 games in his first year (the most wins for the team since winning 80 in 2010) which had him place fifth in the final voting for NL Manager of the Year.
