Paul Andrew O’Neill, a former right fielder for the United States, played 17 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). Between 1985 to 1992, he played for both the New York Yankees and Cincinnati Reds.

With 281 home runs, 1,269 runs batted in, 2,107 hits, and those figures, O’Neill had a lifetime batting average of.288. He won the batting title in the American League in 1994 with a.359 average. He was an All-Star five times and the World Series champion five times.

O’Neill is the only player to have played three faultless games for the winning team. He played right field for the Reds during Tom Browning’s perfect game in 1988.

He made the last out (a fly ball) in the Yankees’ perfect game against David Wells in 1998, then he doubled and made a diving catch in right field to help the Yankees defeat David Cone’s perfect game in 1999.

Following his retirement from baseball, O’Neill began working as a Yankees broadcaster on the YES Network. He currently works for the network as its chief game analyst and color commentator.
