The first season of the Squid game TV series was released on Netflix on September 17, 2021. It was such a blast that it became Netflix’s most-watched series as well as the top-viewed program in about 94 countries.
The first season got several awards. In an interview with the creator of Squid Game, Hwang Dong-hyuk, he revealed how the script of the series was initially rejected. He said people who went through the script told him it was unrealistic.
He also said at some point, he put the script away and concentrated on other projects he was doing. In 2018, he picked up the script again and this time around, he was determined to make it real no matter what anyone said.
He was able to bring the first season of ‘Squid Game’ to life. After it became a success, he said “As the writer, director, and producer of ‘Squid Game,’ a huge shout out to fans around the world. Thank you for watching and loving our show… Join us once more for a whole new round.”
