Cameron Bure was born on April 6, 1976, in Panorama City, California, to Barbara, a talent manager, and Robert, a gym teacher.

She is also the younger sister of actor Kirk Cameron, whose leading role in the iconic ’80s comedy Growing Pains inspired her to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

Cameron Bure began acting at the age of five, appearing in various national commercials. She went on to guest star on shows like Alice, St. Elsewhere, and Who’s the Boss?, as well as making her film debut in 1987’s Some Kind of Wonderful.

Cameron Bure made her television debut as D.J. Tanner, the eldest of three sisters in a family governed by a widower (Bob Saget) with the help of his brother-in-law (John Stamos) and best friend (Cameron Bure) when she was 11 years old (Dave Coulier).

Full House, which also starred Jodie Sweetin and featured the first screen appearances of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (as the same character), showed Cameron Bure’s caustic humor and charm and lasted until its eighth and final season in 1995 as one of television’s best sitcoms.
