Actress Jackie Appiah hails from Ghana and was born in Canada.
She has won and been nominated for numerous acting accolades, including Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2010 Africa Movie Academy Awards and Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 2007 Africa Movie Academy Awards.
At the 2008 Africa Movie Academy Awards, she was nominated twice: once for Best Actress in a Leading Role and once for Best Upcoming Actress.
She was born and spent her early years in Canada before moving to Ghana at the age of ten with her mother. She is commonly referred to by her maiden name, Appiah.
Appiah and Peter Agyemang were married in 2005; they have a son. The deceased Joe Appiah, a well-known lawyer in Kumasi, was the younger brother of Appiah’s father, Kwabena Appiah, who now resides in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
In 2020, there were rumors that Jackie Appiah became pregnant with George Weah, the president of Liberia. She refuted the rumor, nevertheless, by posting on her Instagram account that “laughter that dispels lies and created rumors.”
When Appiah was invited by Things We Do For Love author Edward Seddoh Junior, who performed the role of Enyonam Blagogee in, her appearances on-screen became routine.
Later, she appeared in numerous TV shows, including Tentacles, Games People Play, Sun-city, and many others.
