Meet Terry Pegula and Kim Pegula

Terrence Michael Pegula is a petroleum engineer and multibillionaire American businessman.

He owns Pegula Sports and Entertainment, which includes the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres and the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, which he co-owns with his wife Kim Pegula.

Carbondale, PA is where Pegula’s father worked in coal mining and truck driving. Scranton Preparatory School was his alma mater.

Then he went to Penn State University to study petroleum and natural gas engineering and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. He moved to Allegany, New York, in 1985 and has lived there since.

He has interests in natural gas development, real estate, entertainment, and professional sports after amassing his money from fracking investments.

Pegula paid $189 million to previous owners Tom Golisano, Larry Quinn, and Dan DiPofi for Hockey Western New York LLC (the holding company that controls the Buffalo Sabres and the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League).

Pegula’s investment in the team, the then-First Niagara Center, and the construction of Harborcenter across the street had an immediate beneficial impact, with players, fans, and alumni revitalized.

Kim Pegula

With her husband Terry Pegula, Kim S. Pegula is an American entrepreneur and co-principal benefactor of the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL).

As the head of Pegula Sports and Entertainment, she is in charge of the National Football League (NFL) Bills, the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres, the WNBA’s Buffalo Bandits and the WNHL’s Rochester Knighthawks, as well as the AHL’s Rochester Americans.

The LECOM Harborcenter and Nashville-based Black River Entertainment, both owned and operated by the firm, are also under its management.

By virtue of her position with Pegula Sports and Entertainment, she is also the president of the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres.

Shahid Khan and Zygi Wilf are the only two non-American owners of a National Football League team.

She was born in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. Aside from the fact that she was born in Seoul and was found wandering the streets of Seoul at the age of five, she has no recollection of her birth name or parents’ names.

A DNA test revealed that one of her parents was most likely Japanese, but she has no other information about her childhood in South Korea.

On December 30, 1974, she arrived in the United States and was adopted by Ralph and Marilyn Kerr. She grew up in a Rochester, New York suburb, Fairport, with her adoptive family.

Pegula was a member of the school’s cheerleaders and band, playing the bassoon.

After enrolling at Houghton College, like her brothers, she and a roommate decided to take a trip to Alaska to work at a fishing camp after hearing about the lucrative opportunities there.

Terry Pegula was dining at a restaurant in Belfast, New York when she applied for a waitressing job; she met him while applying for the job.

The two started dating in 1991 after Terry offered her a position at his natural gas company; they married in 1993.
