Jon Rahm Rodrguez is a professional golfer from Spain.

Rodríguez held the World Amateur Golf Ranking number one position for a record of 60 weeks before becoming world number one in the Official World Golf Ranking when he won the Memorial Tournament in July 2020.

Rahm became the first Spanish golfer to win the U.S. Open when he won the tournament in 2021.



Rahm was born in Barrika, Basque Country, Spain on November 10, 1994.

He received a golf scholarship to Arizona State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.

He won 11 college golf events there, which is second only to Phil Mickelson’s 16 collegiate triumphs.

Rahm was the first player to receive the Ben Hogan Award twice, in 2015 and 2016. He also took first place in the 2014 Eisenhower Trophy.

During his junior year, he competed as an amateur in the 2015 Phoenix Open, finishing tied for fifth place, three shots behind the champion.

Rahm became the 28th player in World Amateur Golf Ranking history to be rated first on April 1, 2015.

After holding the position for 25 straight weeks, he gave it up, got it back, and held onto it for an additional 35 weeks.

Rahm holds the all-time record with 60 consecutive weeks spent at the top of the list.

He reached the 2015 U.S. Amateur quarterfinals while holding the No. 1 world ranking but fell to Derek Bard.
