Angela Paxton is a politician from the state of Texas in the United States. She has represented District 8 in the Texas Senate as a Republican since 2019. She was born on 02/14/1963 in New Braunfels, TX

She has  BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from Baylor University between  1981-1985 and a  Masters in Education from the University of Houston at Clear Lake between  1986-1987.

Paxton worked at Legacy Christian Academy in Frisco, Texas, as a guidance counselor. Paxton is married to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

In 2018, she defeated fellow Republican Phillip Huffines in the primary and Democrat Mark Phariss in the general election to win her state senate seat.

Paxton proposed Senate Bill 860, giving her husband, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, the authority to grant exemptions from securities rules.

The idea, which is being marketed as a consumer protection measure, would allow qualified persons to work as financial advisors without having to register with the state securities board.

Paxton stated that the bill to modify state securities legislation “has virtually nothing to do” with her husband Ken Paxton’s criminal prosecution.
