New York Yankees pitcher Luis Severino is a Dominican professional baseball player. He made his Major League Baseball debut in 2015. 2017 proved to be an excellent year for him, with an All-Star nod and third place for the Cy Young Award in the American League voting.

In 2013, he was promoted to the Charleston RiverDogs of the Class A South Atlantic League after playing with the DSL Yankees 1.

He went 4-2 with a 2.45 ERA and 53 strikeouts in 44 innings thrown in ten games (eight starts). He threw his fastball at 97 miles per hour in Charleston (156 kilometers per hour).
