Tennis professional from Australia named Matthew Ebden. His career-high singles ranking of No. 39 was attained on October 22, 2018, while his No. 24 doubles ranking was attained on January 31, 2022.

Ebden participated in the Australian Open qualifying round in January 2007. Ebden started 2010 by defeating another Australian, Marinko Matosevic, to qualify for the Brisbane International. He faced Austria’s Jürgen Melzer, the sixth seed and world number 28, in the main draw’s opening round. By winning in straight sets, 7-5, 6-1, he pulled off a major upset.

Ebden started 2011 in a similar way to 2010 by being entered in the Brisbane International qualifying draw and qualifying. Ebden and Purcell teamed up once more as they began the 2022 Australian Open. They beat André Göransson and Jonathan Erlich in the opening round before eliminating four seeded pairs in a row to advance to their first doubles final overall and Ebden’s first Grand Slam final.

Before moving on to the third round, where they upset thirteenth seeds Raven Klaasen and Ben McLachlan in straight sets to go to the quarterfinals, Ebden and Purcell defeated fourth seeds Juan Sebastián Cabal and Robert Farah from a set down in the second round.

He defeated the third-seeded team of Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski in doubles at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships to go to the quarterfinals, avenging their defeat in the 2022 Libéma Open final earlier in the grass season.
