Actress, TV personality, news reporter, dancer, and beauty queen Jamie del Rosario Herrell is of Filipino and American descent.

She was crowned Miss Earth 2014 and Miss Philippines Earth 2014. Herrell received the Outstanding Individual Award for her environmental advocacy during the 80th Cebu City Charter Day Awarding Ceremony.

Herrell was born on July 12, 1994, in Glendora, California, to Mary Snow del Rosario, a Filipino from Medellin, Cebu, and James Edward Herrell, an American from Seattle, Washington.



Herrell was raised in the United States during her formative years before relocating to Cebu City, the hometown of her mother.

Before going to the International Academy of Film and Television to pursue acting, she was a mass communication student at the University of San Jose–Recoletos in Cebu.

She has her own dancing company, Mactan Dynamics, in addition to studying. She had also served as the Visayas Region’s managing director for Solid Source Trading.

Before entering beauty pageants, she appeared in a few commercials and short films. She earned a BA in Liberal Arts and Commerce with a Major in Marketing and Communications from the University of San Jose–Recoletos in 2021.

She participated in the Miss Resorts World Manila 2013 competition but finished last. 2013’s Sinulog Festival Queen, Miss MegaCebu, and Reyna ng Aliwan were the three titles she won that year.

On May 11, 2014, in the SM Mall of Asia Arena, Herrell competed in and won the Miss Philippines Earth 2014 pageant. She qualified for the worldwide Miss Earth title that same year by defeating 49 other competitors.

Jamie represented the Philippines at the Miss Earth 2014 finals after winning the Miss Philippines Earth 2014 crown.

Herrell won the second Miss Earth crown after Karla Henry’s triumph in 2008 at the UP Theater on November 29, 2014, where she was crowned Miss Earth 2014 by her predecessor, Venezuelan Alyz Henrich.

Herrell received praise from the Philippine President’s office, and both the upper house and lower house of the Philippine Congress honored her by approving resolutions honoring her triumph in the Miss Earth competition.

The Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma, Jr., on behalf of the Philippine President Benigno Aquino III congratulated Herrell for winning the Miss Earth 2014 beauty pageant and said that her achievement once again put the Philippines on the map in terms of talent and beauty.

Herrell attended the Senate session where she was feted by the Philippine senators and bestowed a copy of a resolution to commend her achievement.

The Senate resolution read in part, “By being named this year’s most beautiful woman, Herrell has earned recognition for her achievements in winning the Miss Earth 2014 title against 83 other delegates from around the world.

Herrell received the Outstanding Individual Award on February 24, 2017, at the 80th Cebu City Charter Day awards ceremony, in recognition of her efforts to promote community sustainability and good livelihood.
